When I was pregnant with Asher I knew I wanted to do a gender reveal party to share the fun news with all our friends, but this time around we didn’t find out what we were having until early January and with all the hustle and bustle of the holidays I just wasn’t up to hosting another party so we set out to do our reveal just a little differently.
Just for fun here are the results of a few old wives tales:
As for the actual reveal, I knew I wanted to do more than just call and post on social media what we were having and I knew I wanted to incorporate Asher in some way so I decided to have him paint a picture for the baby in the generic gender colors: pink for girl, blue for boy. While he was channeling his inner artist we snapped a couple dozen pictures and after a bit of editing we had our final product. We sent the links to our parents and called to hear their reactions and then shared via technology with our friends. Overall I was really, really happy with how it turned out and best of all our new little one has some artwork to hang up from big brother.
