1st trimester recap. 2 months pregnant. 3 months pregnant.

Bumpdate catch-up: Months 2 and 3

I had fully intended to do weekly bumpdates with this little one but sadly before I knew it we were behind in the pictures and rather than stress about it I instead have decided to just do monthly updates.

Now we didn’t share our good news with you all until 17 weeks but I had been drafting up these posts from pretty early on and I thought I’d include months 2 and 3.

3 Months Pregnant

3 months pregnant

How Far Along:

3 months (12 weeks)

Feeling Physically:

Better! Though this month did have some days where nausea was so bad I couldn’t work. Around week eleven things eased up a bit but I am still getting waves of nausea every so often (come on 2nd trimester!)

Feeling Mentally:

Sleep has improved and therefore so has my mood. My doctor did advise me to refrain from running a half I had scheduled last week so that was a bummer but I did run a 5k instead and it felt good to be active.

Maternity Clothes:

The hair ties have been brought out again to hold up my pants but still able to wear my old jeans.

Sleep:

As good as sleep with a toddler can be.

Missing Anything:

Being able to go as hard as I want with exercise. We had a bit of a scare/my doctor advised staying away from what he called “over the top” working out (ie: stick to shorter distance cardio and lower weight/higher reps).

I was hoping to get back to where I left off before exhaustion and nausea derailed me but the important thing is a healthy baby so obviously I am taking it easy.

Food Cravings:

Still nothing in particular.

Gender:

Unknown at this time but I am leaning girl because this pregnancy is so much different from mine with Asher’s

Labor signs:

none.

Wedding rings on or off:

still on.

Looking Forward to:

Sharing with the rest of the family. I have told my mom but otherwise, no one else knows (obviously this was published AFTER I shared the good news!)

Exercise regimen:

As I mentioned above, I am still working out but at a lower intensity than I was before.

Differences from 1st pregnancy:

By this time with Asher, I was running pretty regularly and was overcoming my tiny bit of morning sickness. This time around all symptoms have been amplified so I still have moments of first-trimester crumminess.

Favorite part so far:

We had an ultrasound at 10 weeks and got to see our little one moving around. It was crazy to see how he or she already looks like a bitty baby!

2 Months Pregnant

2 months pregnant

How Far Along:

2 months (8 weeks)

Feeling Physically:

Oy vey! This little one is kicking my butt! Extreme nausea, lack of appetite and trouble sleeping for no apparent reason.

Feeling Mentally:

Truthfully a bit stressed. Most likely because I am tired, cranky, and nauseous so it makes getting things done difficult and I don’t do well with overflowing to-do lists.

Maternity Clothes:

Well I am lucky enough to work from home most days of the week so I am usually in yoga pants but when I do have to wear real clothes my jeans are just a bit snugger is all.

Sleep:

Horrible. I am experiencing all the pregnancy insomnia.

Missing Anything:

Sleep and/or caffeine to make up for lack of sleep

Food Cravings:

None. Just like with Asher I experience hunger but have NO clue what I want to eat.

I just completed a half marathon a few weeks ago and felt pretty good. I am trying to keep up with some sort of activity each day but between toddler chasing (totally should count by the way) and exhaustion I am not doing as well as I’d like

Differences from 1st pregnancy:

If you followed through my pregnancy with Asher this one has been answered already but for anyone new here… EVERYTHING. I am much more nauseous, moody, tired, etc. I know some of that comes from managing a toddler this time around.

Favorite part so far:

Despite how crabby I may sound, I truly do love being pregnant and I am so excited about the road to this new little one joining us!
