It is so hard to believe that our little man is FOUR months old!? Are you serious? Where has time gone. I wasn’t on the game with the three month post so I am playing catch up here.
Age: 4 months
Weight: 14lbs 13 oz as of 4 month check up
Length: 26.25 inches
Head: 17 inches
Sleeping: We have gone through a few days of getting more than usual sleep, but overall he is still sticking to going to bed between 8:30 and 9. He sleeps until about 2:30 or 3 and then is up to eat. Then it’s back down until 7:30 or 8.
Milestones/New Tricks:
3 months: Holding head up without assistance. Bearing weight on his legs/standing with assistance. Rolling from tummy to back. Reaching for toys. Cooing and talking all day long.
4 months: Rolling from back to belly. Grabbing his feet and putting them in his mouth. Blowing raspberries.
Best Moments; I love hearing his little squeals and laughing. He certainly knows who mom and dad are and I love watching him get excited to see us! He is so animated these days and it is so fun!
Favorites: He loves his jumparoo, though he needs a blanket to “fill it out” because he is still so long and lean. He loves jumping though and chewing on all the toys. Speaking of…this kid LOVES his Sophie giraffe. It is the best teething toy ever!
What’s happened:
Well the biggest news is that after 12 glorious weeks at home with my squish…I sadly had to return to work. Before having our little man I was convinced I would have no problem going back but the truth is I was a blubbering mess for nearly a week! My first day back I spent a solid 15 minutes in my office wearing sunglasses, crying because I hated to be away from him. On top of that, I also had to learn the world of pumping and had to dig my educated brain out of the dark hole it had climbed in to over the last 12 weeks. [seriously it’s hard to have an intelligent conversation in baby talk] Luckily my summers are usually easy and only require that I work 2-3 hours 4 days/week so I was able to get home quickly and snatch up my tiny man.
Over the last month I have settled into a better routine and finally have a handle on this working mom thing. We are lucky in that Asher goes to an awesome daycare with ladies that love him and between my schedule and the hubs he is only there for 2-3 hours a day.
