2011 your time is almost up

It’s finally 2012 and I can’t believe how fast this last year has gone. I know they say time goes faster as you get older but at this rate I will be 100 by Thursday.

So I guess to follow the trend…Here’s to you 2011! Now for a recap of the last 365 days:

  1. I graduated graduate school! It felt like it was never going to happen and before I knew it I was moving out of Bloomington.
  2. I finished my thesis. This kind of goes along with number 1 but it was my baby for so long I feel like it deserves its own line.
  3. I moved from grad school to a town an hour away. I am closer to friends, family, and the fiance. I have loved living on my own but I am excited for the roommate I get in 2012.
  4. I found hobbies. As strange as it may sound I have been too busy with school and work over the last decade I haven’t had the time or money to develop hobbies. The middle of 2011 was when I discovered my love for crafting such as sewing, scrapbooking, and general DIY. I was also given more time to spend with my running.
  5. Speaking of….2011 I ran my first half marathon. It was amazing and I am excited to do another.
  6. My mom and I have become closer. Despite the circumstances that led us on our road trip to Minnesota I will never forget that week. It is truly one of my favorite life experiences.
  7. We have planned our wedding. 2011 was 365 days of wedding. Bring on marriage in 2012
  8. And also so many other awesome memories with friends, family, and my fiance. I am truly blessed in the people department.
Plans for 2012
  1. I am getting married! It’s finally going to be here. April 27th, 2012!
  2. I will be traveling on a plane for the first time and to an amazing island for our honeymoon.
  3. We will be buying a house and hopefully moving in early 2012.
  4. Perhaps starting a new job. We’ll see where God takes me.
  5. Running another half marathon.
I am really looking forward to this year…so here’s to you 2012…Let’s make it a good one!
